Logan circle

Transform your back yard with a botanical experience

Case study

The issue

Located in the heart of Logan Circle, this long wooden fence stretched across four separate homes but lacked identity, cohesion, and visual appeal. Despite being in one of DC’s most visited neighborhoods, the fence felt neglected and disconnected from its vibrant surroundings. Instead of contributing to the energy of the community, it created a dull, forgettable stretch that missed the opportunity to reflect the character, pride, and culture of the people who live there.

The solution

I transformed the fence into a unified mural that brought together the vision of all four homeowners into one cohesive visual story. The design was created to reflect the spirit of the Logan Circle community—infusing color, movement, and natural elements to evoke pride, emotion, and connection. What was once an overlooked barrier became a landmark feature that enhances the neighborhood’s identity, engages passersby, and turns a shared space into a source of collective pride.

This is a perfect example of how murals can take something old and forgotten and transform it into something worth keeping, worth gazing at, and worth connecting with. What was once overlooked becomes a source of pride, emotion, and meaning—turning a simple surface into an experience people can’t ignore.
